P Class and Starling Nationals 2010
Venue: Naval Point Club, Lyttelton, ChristchurchWinds: 10 - 25knts
The P and Starling Nationals were held at Naval Point in Lyttelton which is in Christchurch. There were 12 Napier sailors amongst the fleets of 55 P's and 96 Starlings in both the Gold and Silver Fleets.
Ollie Steiner did the best out of all the Napier sailors in both fleets finishing 12th in the Gold Fleet. Keith Inglis did the best in the P Class finishing up third in the Tauranga Cup and 2nd in the Tanner Cup. Napier sailors did well considering the bad conditions on some of the days. Unfortunately for Keith his sail blew out in the second to last race of the final day meaning he had to miss a race sailing in to get a new sail.
Results for Napier Starling sailors are as follows: 12th Ollie Steiner Gold Fleet 15th Emma Goodwin Gold Fleet 19th Sam Mackey Gold Fleet 26th Briar Mannering Gold Fleet 33rd Naomi Mannering Gold Fleet
26th Liam Banks Silver Fleet
Well Done Starling sailors we hope to see an even better result next year!
Results for Napier P Class sailors as follows: 3rd Keith Inglis 23rd Abby Goodwin 25th Michael Hayton 29th Liv Mackey 44th Scott Inglis
Liv should have done a lot better than where she came but because of here injury at the New Year Regatta meant that she couldn't sail some days. A good result Napier P sailors! Let see some more sailors get into P's and some better results next year!
