This years optimist nationals were held in whitianga. Sailors were challenged mentally by the light winds everyday. Each day saw the sailors have to wait on shore before they could go out because of the lack of wind. Napier sailors did very well in the green fleet and the open fleet with long start lines and many international competitors. Well done to Jayvee Buchanan for best New Zealander and 2nd overall
